How It Started

These two guys met the way a lot of dads meet — through their kids. Practices, school drop-offs, the slow build of a friendship over years of standing on the same sidelines. Both were already husbands and fathers running households, and both had spent careers in the building trades. One of them came up through roofing — sales, project management, leading teams across multiple states. The other spent more than twenty years building production homes in DFW, and along the way he developed a quiet side specialty: epoxy garage floors, done right, for friends and family.

The kind of work they did on the side was the kind most homeowners don’t know exists. Full diamond grinding. Real crack repair. Floors that still looked great years later. He never advertised it, but the people who hired him kept calling back and kept telling their neighbors.

The Turn

When one of them had their homebuilding job ending, the conversation that had been quietly happening for a while got serious. One with the trade skills and one with the sales background, the systems, and the network. Their wives — both ran things in their own right. And four people who already trusted each other started asking what would happen if they pooled what they had and built something of their own.

Amazing Glaze is what came of that conversation. Not a contractor padding out a side hustle, and not a sales operation hiring strangers to do the work. Two families, four equal owners, one trade they have been quietly mastering for two decades — now offered to North Texas the way we’d offer it to our own neighbors. Because most of the time, that’s exactly who we’re serving.

Why We Do It This Way

We are accountable to Jesus Christ in everything we do. That’s the foundation under all of it — and it’s not a marketing line. We believe the work we do is a way of showing our Father in heaven that we are stewards of His creation, and that the people whose garages we walk into are neighbors we’ve been given the chance to serve well.

In practice, that looks like simple things. We don’t take shortcuts when no one is watching, because someone is. We don’t oversell. We don’t compete on price by cutting prep, because a floor we coated badly would still be there four years from now, embarrassing both us and the family who trusted us. We do the work the way we’d want it done in our own garages — and the way we’d want our neighbors treated by anyone they let through the front door.

That’s also why we built this as two families instead of as a corporate operation. When it’s your name and your kids’ last name on the truck, the work tends to come out a little differently.

Built With Our Kids in the Room

Both of our families have kids — and one of the reasons we built Amazing Glaze together is so our kids could learn what it actually looks like to start something. They see the early-morning calls. They see Mom and Dad working through the late nights. They see what integrity, customer service, and showing up consistently looks like when it’s their own family on the line. The garage isn’t just our office — it’s our classroom.

You might even meet a few of them. The older ones help with marketing, knock doors with us in their neighborhoods, and learn the business from the inside. We don’t hide them from the company; we built the company partly so they’d be part of it.

Where We Work

Amazing Glaze serves the entire DFW metroplex, with our home base in the Collin County suburbs — McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Plano, Prosper, Celina, and the surrounding North Texas communities. These are the streets our kids grow up on. The neighbors we serve are people we’ll see again at school events, at church, at the grocery store. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to.
